Bikespace Education
What We Do
We take 14-16 year old pupils who are disaffected with mainstream education and engage and motivate them through Mountain Biking. How Do We Do This? Pupils attend Bikespace one day per week and are trained in groups of a maximum of seven. We train them in Bicycle Mechanics and they also have the opportunity to develop transferable skills which can be used in the workplace. These range from practical skills like using tools to service skills such as answering the telephone. Pupils also develop their personal, learning and thinking skills (PLTS) during their time at Bikespace. Bespoke Learning Pathways Bikespace offers flexibility in delivering and meeting the training needs of stakeholders. We are able to provide onsite training in other educational establishments or develop a training package based at our workshop which fulfils the specific needs of your learners. |
I like going to Bikespace because I am good at practical things. I find normal School subjects difficult to understand but I can take a bike apart and rebuild it so it is as good as new. I am in year 11 so when I finish School I would like to do public services at College so I can join the Army or to work at Bikespace. |
