We are running a volunteer led community open workshop at Bikespace every Friday between 1pm and 4pm.

This is a chance for anyone wishing to work on their own bike but who doesn't own the tools to use our workshop space and tools to carry out everyday repairs on their bikes .

The workshop is run by a group of bike fanatics who volunteer at bikespace who can give you some guidance to help with your repair. 

Please note this is not a "we'll fix it workshop" you are expected to have a basic knowledge of mechanics as we are only available to give you guidance while carrying out a repair. Some complex repairs may need booking in to the bikespace workshop.

​What’s on at bikespace July, August and September!

• Cycling UK Road and trailside maintenance courses July and August

July 17th , July 31st, August 14th and August 28th  9.00-4.30pm
This free one-day course funded by Plymouth city council will teach you preventative maintenance on you bike and how to deal with an emergency repair while out cycling.

• Big Bike Revival Learn to ride July and August

We will be hosting free led bike rides around Plymouth on Thursday July 25th and every Thursday in August between 12.30 and 4.30pm. Here we will take riders out to learn basic cycling skills and discover local routes around the city to help them continue cycling safely and confidently.

• Big Bike Revival Learn to fix July and August

We will also be hosting free maintenance days on Friday July 26th and every Friday in August between 12.30 and 4.30pm, here we will discuss basic preventative maintenance to keep your bike safe and working.

• Open workshop Monthly

We will continue to run our open workshops on the first Wednesday of every month from 5.30-7.00pm and 7.30-9.00pm. These are free and can be booked through our website.

• Trail Therapy, Starting September

Beginning in September we will be running our 11 weeklong trail therapy course, We have six spaces on each course and we will be taking groups for rides to scenic spots around Devon and Cornwall to help each candidate learn new skills and hopefully build new friendships to continue their cycling journeys. This course is funded by Plymouth City Council.

• Trail Therapy for suicide prevention, Starting September

In September we will also be running a trail therapy course aimed at suicide prevention and mental health well being in middle aged men. This will run for 2 weeks per person and we will be taking candidates for bike rides in scenic spots in Devon and Cornwall to help kickstart healthy mental and physical health.

• Bikespace Hub, Starting September

Bikespace hub is an 11-week course based in the workshop in which we take an in depth look a bicycle maintenance. Each week we will look at a different part of the bike culminating with knowledge of how to fully service and maintain a bicycle.
